I may have found, via seed concept from Ed Vielmetti, a linking issue solution. Commenting Yesterday, Ed said:
There are economies of linking where Google is not a factor - I'm thinking about delicious, where links are everywhere and there's a whole collection of for:ourfounder and via:ourfounder tips of the hat going on.
At the end of each post, people who do not wish to link can have a Post References link with a del.icio.us tag for that post. This would do several things.
1. Not give up Google Juice
2. Not be all that gameable
3. Give a long term del.icio.us link that can further conversation
4. Can let multiple posts share the same del.icio.us link
5. Can start to build secondary conversations.
6. Still allow people the ability to reference their sources - and in a way that in no way removes attention from the writer.
7. Still promote the community, conversation and cooperation aspects of blogging.
I shall start.

I actually almost did that with my previous two posts, but decided that it clouded the immediate message -- more so than they were already clouded ;)
Another example of genetic ESP.
