Well, I had about $16 in Skype "Credit" which I purchased with money. Today I started up the laptop and Skype, which I love to death and use every day, told me I should buy some Skype "Credit".
I thought, "But I have $16 in Skype "Credit" which I spent my hard earned money on. Previously, Skype "Credit" allowed me to call land lines in the US for a small fee. And I did it a lot. I've even got a Skype telephone number.
Then they made calling to land lines in the US free.
So I'm a pretty Skype-happy guy. But now I find the little blue text that says the "credit" balance expires after 180 days of inactivity. So what this tells me as a Skype customer is: buy SkypeOut "Credit" only as you need it and in the smallest denominations possible.
I should add that I really have no trouble giving Skype $16. I really do use it a lot. But I'm afraid I just don't understand the rationale for destroying your credit balance if you don't use it 180 days. Maybe if you didn't access your Skype account at all, that I could understand. But, like I say, I use mine several times a day. I'm hardly an inactive account.
I am Ourfounder on Skype, BTW.
