I thought the Maslow hierarchy of needs concept was so simple to understand that I've tried to explain it to my 4-year-old son. I stated that Maslow would say Legos are not a need; they are a want. My son would argue that he must build Legos. He doesn't want to build Legos; he MUST build Legos. I build, therefore I am. (I say that, not him)
